Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest child of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick - was born in Woodland Hills in California on 5 August, 1956. McCormick's first job as a professional was during 1964 when she starred in an advertisement for Mattel's newly released doll "Baby Pattaburp". That same year, she appeared in a second commercial for the doll of Mattel "Chatty Caty" and soon was cast at the La Jolla Playhouse to play her role as the youngest daughter in the new television sitcom, The Brady Bunch. The Brady Bunch' In 1969, McCormick was chosen from the 1,200 youngsters who had auditioned for the role of the eldest of three towheaded daughters in the upcoming TV sitcom The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with a blended family. This show lasted for five years. McCormick in her memoir Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice published in 2008 revealed that, during the 5th season of the show, McCormick almost lost her love for her brother Barry Williams. She was 16 years old at the time; Barry was just 19. "It was possible," she said, "but it was not the time right the way it was for us."
